Will squirrel tail skin and fur grow back?

we have been caring for two infant squirrels for a week now and my daughter just pulled off the end two inches of one of their tails through the side of the cage I built for them. All the skin and fur of the last two inches is gone right down to the bone, will it be able to grow the skin back? Will squirrel tail skin and fur grow back?
No it will not. He will become infected and septic and die :( Take him to a wildlife rehab where they will either amputate the tip of the tail or euthanize. I doubt a regular vet will do surgery on a wild animal even if they are tame Good LuckWill squirrel tail skin and fur grow back?
yes the fur will grow back... the bone will not... so if she just pulled the hair off at the end... then yeah.. it will grow back.

you said right down to the bone... right???

lol it is not going to get infected.... thats the only defense mechanism a squirrel has... its either the last 2 inches.. which is hair... that breaks very easy... to escape predators.. also... every 2 inches thru the tail bone.. are easy breaks.. but even if it were in the bone... no infection usually occurs... its an even break... god made them that way. :)

but if it is in the bone.. it does not grow back... if it above the bone.. ( there is fur/hair quite aways above the bone)... it WILL grow back.. may take a while but it will. :)

If you cut a squirrels tail off be sure to cut the whole tail off. Keeps them happy and cool. They will run and fly thru the trees faster!
