How can i get a squirrel monkey?

i want 1 so i need to know, where i can get 1.how much they cost, and

oh yea what i need to get 1,like if i need papers or anything. How can i get a squirrel monkey?
Yes, you need papers, or else it will crap on the floor. You should change the papers every other day at minimum. Also remember that the diet of the squirrel monkey is very expensive, as they eat meat as a regular part of their diet.

Squirrel monkeys are actually very cheap, as they are viewed like rats in most areas of the world. Do not allow your squirrel monkey to get ahold of sharp objects or firearms.

Come to think of it, you're better off with a nice little doggie. Everyone loves puppies. How can i get a squirrel monkey?
Every state and many cities have their own regulations on exotic animals such as monkeys. The first place you will want to start is probably look into your city/county and state ordinances on monkeys and what requirements they have. You might have to get some kind of permit to own a monkey or you might not have to do anything at all. You will need to do the research.

The cost of a monkey will also vary depending on what the state requirements are. You can probably purchase a monkey for a couple hundred dollars off the Internet but if you want a healthy animal it would probably cost more like $1000. Then you would need food, monkeys can eat regular human food but you can also purchase specific monkey food, it would probably add between $50-$100 to your monthly food costs. They also will require vet care, so you need to find a vet that can take care of monkeys, and not all of them do. There are also going to be other costs such as diapers. Monkeys are also not very good pets they are usually alright when they are young but get very protective when they get older and don't adapt to change or new people. They are also very smart so it is like having a two year old in the house all the time that can climb on all furniture, take off their own diaper, and get into everything.
It all depends on where you live you would need a license to own one and would need to show this when you buy one but where is the question well if you research the monkey itself and track down its habitat and contact various dealers in that country this might be hard to do i am not sure on the cost but i expect it to be pretty high because of the breed and location but once you do track one down all the trouble will be worth while because they are soooooo cute.

hope that helped in some way
You close your eyes, move your arms in circular motions, and sing '; I LOVE CHEESE! I LOVE CHEESE!'; THen flush 3 icecubes down the toilet while listening to Santana.

What is the world record Squirrel?

What was the biggest squirrel ever killed? if you dont know the official record tell e yours. mine is 3 lbsWhat is the world record Squirrel?
I don't know the record, but I killed one that weighed 5 lbs.I had him mounted by a guy just starting out in taxidermy and when I got him back, I was amazed- it had turned into an ordinary size squirrel. The guy said man, I had to trim off a ton of skin to get him to fit the mold! There went my trophy squirrel of a life time. When compared to other squirells I killed on that hunt, the big one looked like a giant. He must have had some sort of a gland problem to have gotten so large. What is the world record Squirrel?
In reality? 1.5 pounds. As far as my wife and co-workers are concerned: it was 82 pounds and had huge teeth. I had to shoot it with my twelve gage so it would stop attacking small children. do they believe me? hmm.
I have the B%26amp;C record for gray squirrels. It weighed in at 19lbs 4oz and measured over 3' from nose to tail tip and was the most vicious animal I've ever come across. We lost a lot of good men on that hunt.
stupidnameshaveallbeentaken...

I don't care what anyone says, that was funny.

Oh and I'm not sure what the world record is, but the New Hampshire State record is 2 lb. 2 oz.
I have Rocky, the flying squirrel, mounted and sitting on the mantel under Bullwinkel's head.
The Worlds Record weight was achieved by a Fox Squirrel.*

    Squirrel Problems?

Squirrels are eating our strawberry patch - any suggestions about how to get them to stop??Squirrel Problems?
Oh those little boogers! They are very hard to get them to leave once they have tasted your yummy morsels.

You can put a small cage of chicken wire over the top. push down slightly to the ground because they will try to go under neath. You can put a few long stakes weaved through the mesh into the soil. Other things you can do..

anything smelly....chive tops, onion heads, crushed mint (tea bags work) stinky shoes, dryer sheets ( not pretty but works very well)

and whirley-gigs, anything that moves alot.

Depending on how large your strawberry patch it you can also put liter bottles over them or bird mesh.

There are also mt.lion scent and other

predator scent you can get at any sporting good store, however with them you have a smell!

    You can put decoy predator

around...owls...snakes....I have even used stuffed animals.

Nothing is 100% except to eradicate them .I myself just put up with them. I also have a squirrel feeder farther away so they are not quite so hungry all the time!

    Good luck and God Bless!

    GrandmaSquirrel Problems?
Put a ceramic OWL in the patch. With reflective eyes, if available. I have also seen battery-operated OWLS that ';Hoot';.

Many WALMARTS %26amp; PUBLIX'S put ceramic OWLS on the roof to ward off bats, birds %26amp; squirrels.

    Hope it helps.
Things I've heard from my gardening friends:

    - put foil along the fence where the travel

    - hang shiny things around the patch (old CD's)

    - fake owl

    - put chicken wire over your patch

    Good luck!
I would say try this product, it can't hurt. good luck.

Squirrels have to be one of the most persistent and intelligent eaters on the planet. I really hate to post this, but a instead of a scare crow, you have to put a sacrificial squirrel. Once they see one of their own dead at the hands of their desire they will never come back. You may also want to contact an organic gardener or PETA as both will give viable suggestions. Good Luck!
invite some chinamen over. they will be more than happy to catch em skewer them and roast them.

If u found a Squirrel with a hat & suit on in the dinner table eating your bowl of peanuts what would you do?

I would give him a Reese's Pieces buttercup. :)If u found a Squirrel with a hat %26amp; suit on in the dinner table eating your bowl of peanuts what would you do?
Actually, the bowl on my table contains cashews... But if a squirrel with a hat and suit was eating out of THAT I'd probably be like... ';Hey, weren't you on my bed the other day?';If u found a Squirrel with a hat %26amp; suit on in the dinner table eating your bowl of peanuts what would you do?
    I would thank that squirrel, b/c i have been looking to get rid of those! I would also say ';nice suit!';

    good riddance peanuts
I'd ask him to take the hat off because it's rude to wear it at the table.
Let him eat all he want, and invite him to enjoy dinner and a drink with me!
Ask if I can have the hat and suit so my ferret could wear them to the dance Saturday night.
Take a photo quick before it goes away and then post it on the internet
    grap the squirrel swatter
I would make him a pot of tea to wash the nuts down.
I'd let him have them! Squirrel's with hats and suits on are soo cute!!! =) of course, the only one I've seen is you're avatar, but he is a cutie!
Well since I live by myself and no one would believe me I guess I would try to cut down on the VODKA.
I would check his pockets when he was leaving. He may have taken the silverware!
    Shoot it and grill it.

    Grilled squirrel! mmmn.
tell him to take his hat off at the table
It would never happen. Within 30 seconds max of entering my house, my cats would kill it.
You want something to drink, to help wash those peanuts down?
Kiss it it must be magical and I will turn into a unicorn

    (Kidding about the last part)
Take it on the talk show circuit with me
I would say hey Scooter how ya been can i have some those Peanuts lol
Call my cat he would eat the squirrel.
Sit down with him and talk baseball-And call him Scooter
Wonder what the hell I was smoking.
    Say ';Dang! I didn't know mom bought more peanuts!!!';
    I don't have a bowl of peanuts.
    Hug it.
I'd say, ';oh my gosh...and to think all this time I had you pegged for a gerbil';...then I'd proceed to offer him a medicine dropper full of beer.
catch it and sell it to a circus.
    pour him some wine!!!!
thank my friend for the killer shrooms
build it a mini house to live in!
    i'd change my medication

Why does the mother squirrel casterate all of her newborn male babies but ONE.?

Wow, this is a new twist on an old urban legend! The usual way the story is told is that male squirrels will castrate each other while fighting. Either way, squirrels do not castrate each other. I've worked as a wildlife rehabilitator for many years, and I have raised dozens if not hundreds of litters of baby squirrels. I have never seen a baby male squirrel castrated by its mother. I think where this story may come from is that when they are very young, baby squirrels need to be stimulated to urinate. (I assume this helps keep them from going just anywhere all over their nest, mucking it up.) Squirrel mothers stimulate their babies to urinate by licking them just above their genitalia, where their bladders are. Maybe someone saw this once, misinterpreted it, and started spreading this story. But I assure you, it isn't true! Why does the mother squirrel casterate all of her newborn male babies but ONE.?
Natural Selection. She only wants the strongest one to reproduce. Why does the mother squirrel casterate all of her newborn male babies but ONE.?
    She's HUNGRY!!
Maybe in captivity they don't do it but maybe out in nature they do....what ever the reason, it's weird. Good question.....you should write to the myth buster guys...

    My cat and a squirrel?

my little ginger male cat has just bought in a squirral with a chrushed head. the squirral was as big as the cat. it was a frog the other day.how do i stop him doing this and is it normal for cats to kill squirrals????? thaks very much.My cat and a squirrel?
if the squirrel has a crushed head then he probably didn't kill it, it could have been a road kill, but cats do bring things home, they do it to say they love you, we would call it a present, but as they don't get much pocket money, it's the only way to get you something, all jokes a side, it is normal for them to do this. i know its sad, but it is natures way, try putting a bell round his neck to scare the other animals away, the only problem with bells is that if a bigger animal is chasing your cat ie: a dog or fox then it can't hide as well.My cat and a squirrel?
You should be flattered that he's bringing you such a HUGE present! My cat does it all the time but thank god, they never fit through the cat flap, I just trip over them the next day :( It's a cats way of saying how much they love you - we all buy presents for our family and friends so show how much they mean to us and cats do exactly the same. My cat has grown out of all that now and has settled on rabbits.
Doubtful your little hunter killed the squirrel. My money would be on the squirrel every time. More like he found it injured and took complete advantage of that.

As for the frog, sorry frog. Cats are hunters, fact. You will never stop that instinct. I have three cats.

Rodge The Podge....Air-force, no doubt. Birds are fare game to him.

Mr Trinkles.....(BIG ginger chap) Army.....ground dwellers, rats mice, frogs (I put it down to he is a little to fat to catch the feathered friends)

Ms Sqeekums...(was a house cat for 3 years prior to me having her) never seen her catch a single thing. She chatters at birds and looks on with interest when the boys bring ';kills'; home but so far so good with her....but then she is only 3 and there is still plenty of time....it's the only thing I don't like about cats.....
You can't stop him-he's a cat and they are natural hunters.

Yes bringing back squirrels is normal. My cousins cat specialises in rabbits but has caught many squirrels too and has even brought back baby roe deer.He is terrible at catching birds though-has tried many times but never managed it yet.
Keep him well fed and indoors. If you can't keep him in all the time at least don't let him out at nite.

Indoor cats live much longer than cats allowed to go outside for many reasons.
You can't stop him cats are predators. Look on the bright side though, he brings them back as a present for you. About time you got him something don't you think.
My cats never been brave enough to take on a squirrel but ive also had frogs, birds, mice, even grass snakes brought into my home. Theres not really much that can be done to stop them.
the cat has just bought you back a present its their way of saying thank you. plus you're lucky its not alive ours bring back rats 'alive' so be thankful it was dead
i bloody hate the fact cat do this,

    so far

    ive seen

    3blue birds

    5 baby mice

    i hate it soooo much!!!!!
    keep your cat indoors.

shoot their left eye out with a 22 pistol, about 4 will make a good mess. Skin or dress cut up Old squirrel soak in salt water and par boil, then roll in flour, salt and pepper and pan fry in lard. Make cream gravy, and have biscuits. Young squirrel no need to par boil.

Be sure and call me. I will bring the fried potatoes.
bread it and fry it like you would chicken and yes it is really good.

    you can also bake it.

you are better off you just shoot it a .22 works great.

Fry it if it's young boil it or bake it if it's old. You will need to shoot them with a 22. Don't try to catch them they bite.

Oh, while your skinning it check out the crotch hair. If it's gray it's an old squirrel.
first you catch it then you kill it then you fry it

What's the difference between a woodchuck and a squirrel?

A woodchuck is a big, fat critter better known as the groundhog. You've probably seen the one they pull out of the hole on Groundhog Day. That is a woodchuck. But technically they are considered a type of ground squirrel. They just don't look like what we think of when we think of a squirrel. Here is more, from Wikipedia:

What site can i go to to find out if its illegal to own a pet squirrel?

in wichita, ksWhat site can i go to to find out if its illegal to own a pet squirrel?
*It is not illegal to own a squirrel. I own a rehab center at my house. I have a male squirrel that I hand raised. He is slightly handicapped and could not be released. I have had him 7 years. That is old for a squirrel. Booger is his name. You can not pet him like a cat or dog. I must wear gloves. He does not understand that when he plays his sharp teeth hurts human skin. He rides on my back. He occupies a huge cage with my dwarf male bunny. They get along great.

Booger goes down and spends time with Gort. They each have their own levels. A squirrel is not meant to be a pet. They can bite and hurt you. They require fresh bark each day as part of their diet. You must do this all year long. Care is not easy and I would not recommend this to anyone. Look for other choices. If you do have a squirrel that has fallen out of a nest then find a rehaber in your area. What site can i go to to find out if its illegal to own a pet squirrel?
u live in Kansas? well ucan look it up in ur states animal code google it. here in california its illegal. i just feed them and i feed the birds too
i don't think you would want too, they are cute and everything but will panic if a human tries to hold one

im using a field point arrow please help

ohh im 14 is there any law in florida that does not allow me to hunt what laws apply? Will a 68'; 30# longbow take out a squirrel and/or other small animals?
The 30 lbs will be sufficient to kill the squirrel. But the field point is a poor choice. Use blunt or a judo point to hunt the squirrel with. The blunt force trauma will be enough to kill the squirrel when shot from the 30 lb bow.I know this will sound strange to many, but in my state 30 lbs is legal to deer hunt with. While you may be able to hunt without the required license due to your age. you may be required by state law to have a hunter education course certificate before you are able to hung legally. Contact the Florida dept. of wildlife and find out. Will a 68'; 30# longbow take out a squirrel and/or other small animals?
Field point will just hurt them. I've seen a squirrel running around the range one time with an arrow stuck on it. God knows how long that arrow had been stuck on that poor fellow.
I believe that the Bow you use for Hunting has to be a Minimum of at least 35Lb.*
Ask at any sporting goods store. They can tell you about the laws, or point you in the right direction.
it will do the job if your close enough and no as long as you have a state hunting license

if you want more recipes, just type into google ' preparing and cooking squirrels ' and you will get lots of recipes. The most famous for squirrels is Brunswick Stew. I remember back in the late 90s, the FDA warned people in W. Va and Kentucky against eating squirrel brains, as they carried a form of BSE, and would cause disease. I am not sure that the warning on squirrel brains has been lifted. Good luck. What is a good recipe for cooking squirrels? give me tips on how to prepare a squirrel.?
This isn't such a hot idea. City squirrels are inordinately fond of rabies and other diseases, some of which can be transmitted through mere skin contact. If your diet lacks meat protein but you lack cash, I suggest you develop a taste for a meat substitute, such as soybeans or Jack-in-the-Box hamburgers.

Country-bred squirrels are another matter, however, and if you ever have the chance to try one you might wish to employ the following foolproof preparation method (note to weak-stomached readers--skip to the next question pronto):

Wearing gloves at all times (to protect against other, less insidious, infections), take a sharp knife and cut lengthwise through the squirrel's tailbone from the underside, stopping before you reach the skin of the back. Next, hold the tail away from the body (the squirrel's) and make slices across the lower back to widen the strip of skin that connects the tail to the body. You can now peel your squirrel like a banana--grasp the hind legs, step on the tail, and pull slowly, peeling the skin off the head and front legs.

After cutting the remaining skin from the hind legs, remove the head and feet, then slit the body down the front and remove the internal organs. The squirrel has small, elusive glands in the small of his back and in the pits of his forelegs--these too must be removed. Wash the body thoroughly with a mixture of water and vinegar.

So, your mouth is watering, right? OK, now you can cook the squirrel meat just as you would cook chicken, using whatever your favorite recipe may be. (Shake 'N' Bake, however, is not in keeping with the true spirit of the endeavor.) The tastiest squirrels are the grey ones, red squirrels being both too skinny and too gamey. For a more tender squirrel, hang the cleaned body up by what's left of the legs for two or three days.

    Bon appetit.

    Submitted by Bill.

~ squirrels, amount depends upon how many kabobs you want to make

    ~ bamboo skewers

    ~ lard or oil

    ~ salt and pepper

    ~ garlic powder

~ your favorite sauce/marinate, Frank鈥檚 hot sauce, teriyaki, lemon pepper, etc.

In a large pot, boil the squirrels until done. Remove and refrigerate until cold.

Use a sharp knife and debone the squirrels into the largest size pieces possible.

Place the meat onto the skewers. Use as many pieces as you can eat in 2 bites.

Heat the lard or oil in a skillet.

Season the kabobs to taste with the salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add you own seasonings if desired.

Add to the hot skillet and brown on all sides. Remove and allow to cool.

Place in a large zip lock bag or a bowl with a lid. Cover with your favorite sauce or marinate.

    Seal/cover and refrigerate overnight.

The next day either cook them on the grill until hot or place in freezer bags and freeze to cook later like on a camping trip.

    Squirrel flanks over charcoal.

First skin and gut your squirrel. You may wish to bone your squirrel, but that will cause him to be dry when you eat him. Portion him shoulder to hip and insert a shish kabob rod. Roast about 3-4 inches over charcoal. 4-5 minutes per side.

    Serve with a mumbo sauce.

Just TRY to keep the neighbors away.
the best way is to fry it because it has very little fat. so heres the trick, dip in butter milk and then in seasoned flour then deep fry until golden brown
Knock the fur off of its butt, dap with BBQ sauce and let it roast over an open fire.

    LOL

It is illegal to release a grey squirrel, why is OK to release a rat?

Because the law is an ';Alpha Sierra Sierra'; sorry but I'm not allowed to put the word in.It is illegal to release a grey squirrel, why is OK to release a rat?
The grey squirrel is resonsible for the sharp decline of the indigenous red squirrel in the UK. So much so that the red squirrel is on the endangered list.

'Fancy' rats (ones you can purchase in a pet shop) are breed specifically to be pets. It is unlikely that a pet rat would have any impact on the population of the wild (brown) rats living in the area.

Hope that helps with your query. It is illegal to release a grey squirrel, why is OK to release a rat?
de Beauvoir has the right of it-but don`t let him put you off killing rats. Too many do-gooders have no concept of the damage they do.(the rats that is!)
If it's a pet and you don't want it anymore can't you take it to a pet shop so they can sell it to someone who does?
i never heard of a grey squirrel. but dude rats and squirrel's are in the same family..varmints. and varmints are legal.
Grey Squirrels are carriers of a virus fatal to the Red Squirrels. If trapped they should be killed.
Why would you want to release a rat? Just kill it.
listen! a rat is a animal and doesnt deserve to be killed, they do these things to survive and so would you if you were a rat! this is the reason why its not illegal to let one go!!!. how would you liked to be killed for the way you live
Grey squirrel?! Is that a code name?!?!
The reason you are not allowed to release a grey squirrel is because they are not an indigenous (native) species in the UK and Ireland and they are slowly but surely displacing our native red squirrel whereas rats although vermin are a native species

How many tails would a boy squirrel chase if a boy squirrel could chase tails?

Be as creative as you like, just not obscene. How many tails would a boy squirrel chase if a boy squirrel could chase tails?
    The answer is none.

See, boy squirrels CAN chase tails, they don't do it though as they're all too obsessed with burying their nuts in places they then forget about. How many tails would a boy squirrel chase if a boy squirrel could chase tails?
A boy squirrel can't chase tails if Mrs. Squirrel won't let him leave the tree without her!

    What are squirrel traps for?

A couple years ago I was at my local park and I found a cage with a squirrel in it that had an entrance but no exit. The squirrel's jaws were bleeding from it biting on the metal cage. I managed to open the door to the trap and made a path for it to leave. A little later I saw a truck owned by the city come collect the cage. Why would they do that? The squirrels don't harm anyone.

and being bit by a squirrel kinda hurts. What are squirrel traps for?
    True squirrel's can be pests,but I hate traps :[

let nature take it's course. It's the park, not a gardenWhat are squirrel traps for?
Squirrels are considered pests to people who put bird feeders out, plus they can ruin electrical appliances. Also the trap may have been set out for other types of wild life, or even for cats.

Personally I like squirrels better than birds.
TOO MANY CAN BE BAD AND I HAVE KNOWN THEM TO BIYE PEOPLE BEFORE!

    Is a squirrel edible?

Excerpt from British Article on Popularity of Eating Squirrel:

It tastes sweet, like a cross between lamb and duck. And it's selling as fast as butchers can get it It's rather low in fat.

'We put it on the shelf and it sells. It can be a dozen squirrels a day - and they all go,' said David Simpson, the director of Kingsley Village shopping centre in Fraddon, Cornwall, whose game counter began selling grey squirrel meat two months ago.

At Ridley's Fish and Game shop in Corbridge, Northumberland, the owner David Ridley says he has sold 1,000 - at 拢3.50 a squirrel - since he tested the market at the beginning of the year. 'I wasn't sure at first, and wondered would people really eat it. Now I take every squirrel I can get my hands on. I've had days when I have managed to get 60 and they've all sold straight away.'

Simpson likens the taste to wild boar. Ridley thinks it is more a cross between duck and lamb. 'It's moist and sweet because, basically, its diet has been berries and nuts,' he said.

Both believe its new-found popularity is partly due to its green credentials. 'People like the fact it is wild meat, low in fat and local - so no food miles,' says Simpson.

And his own favourite recipe? 'I must admit, I'm a beef man myself,' he said. 'But my huntsman swears by squirrel with sausage meat and bacon.'Is a squirrel edible?
We were raised up eating squirrel in The Texas Hill country...and yes it is very nice and tasty..does not taste like chicken as someone tried to mention here..t has it's very own taste and is excellent...We used to hunt the ';pecan Bottoms'; on the central Texas hill country sometimes 10 or 12 of us at a time for fried squirrell for our family reunions...Is a squirrel edible?
What do you think Davy Crockett, and Sam Houston ate???

My grandmother and mother were raised on squirrel, rabbit, some possum(ugh). I've had it smothered in a skillet in gravy..it's fair that way...very gamy, you need to season it highly! very rich dark meat...doesn't taste like chicken at all. They say it is very healthy...I guess it is my gm lived to 100.
yes it is. It's a meat, not much to it though. When I lived in Cabool, MO my neighbors would get a permit to shoot them out of their trees. One evening I went to their house and the kids (5,and 3) were arguing who would get the brains. Talk about running out the door.
YES WE HAVE EATEN FRIED SQUIRREL AND GRAVY FOR DECADES. WITH A FEW MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY .YOU HAVE A MEAL
Yes squirrel is edible, but only at a certain time of the year.
yes they are , but there is very little meat and depending on how you cook it is very gamey
Most hunters will tell you yes.
    yes right along with rabbit
yes, and it is quite tasty.
    Yes, but not kosher.
Itis edible but as it's a type of rat - no thanks.
yes......tastes like chicken........that kinda rot in the son for a while...

  • What do you do with a baby squirrel?

my cousin saved a baby squirrel from a cat and she doesnt know what to do with it or how to take care of it.What do you do with a baby squirrel?
You can call your local animal care and control and they will come pick it up and send it to a wildlife center.Get a box and a warm towel so the squirrel can stay warm since you don't know how long its been away from he mother. Go ahead and give it some water so it can stay hydrated. If you have a cat or dog you can probably warm up some milk and some of there food mix and so the baby can eat it.Don't have it to warm cause it can hurt the poor thing. If it dont seem to want to bite or attack wrap it in a towel and rock it so it feels a motherly pressance and it will relax and calm down. There's some links below to helpWhat do you do with a baby squirrel?
eat it :0) the young ones are more tender and delicious. i'm not being sarcastic either they are as good as rabbits

Looking to buy a captive breed flying squirrel. Could you help me?

    anything could help

Thank you if you do helpLooking to buy a captive breed flying squirrel. Could you help me?
i have a southern flying squirrel. they DO bond to you, but it takes a lot of time. unlike sugar gliders, they don't smell, and their diets are simpler. they all have different personalities, so it's hard to make any generalizations about them. some are more cuddly, some more playful, and most have attitudes (which i personally like!) i have trained mine to come when called, and to give me 'kisses'. go to www.nfsa.us and join the message board. it might be hard to get one this time of year except for late season babies. make sure you research everything about them before buying. i highly recommend against buying from a pet store, as it is possible they were captured from the wild. good luck, and once again, make sure you are ready for the possibly 10-15 year commitment.Looking to buy a captive breed flying squirrel. Could you help me?
i was in the same boat you were, i went to my local exotic pet store with some questions, i ended up walking out with 2 sugar gliders. they are safer, cuter, and much more fun then a flying squirrel, check out mynasga.com for more info on myths and rhumors on them also for more info. they are so soft and the actully bond to you! unlike a flying squirrel would. good luck. just beware of where you get one. just read the website www.mynasga.com and you will be fine.

Are squirrel monkeys diurnal nocturnal or crepuscular?

Squirrel monkeys are in fact, diurnal, like most of their New World monkey relatives.

    I hope I helped! :)

What is the permisiible value of insulation resistence in case of 3-phase squirrel cage induction motors?

I am assuming you are talking about a megger test on a motor. This is a widely debated subject as there are many different factors involved.

The short answer is this: the IEEE 43 standard for the IR testing of electric motors gives a minimum acceptable value of 1 megohm plus 1 megohm per kilovolt of motor operating voltage. For a 460 volt motor, the pass/fail threshold value would be 1.46 megohms and 1.23 for a 230 volt motor.

I personally have a different opinion. A megohm test is best used with a begining baseline test and subsequent daily, weekly, monthly or yearly tests, (depending on application) to determine actual breakdown of insulation over time. It is important to conduct these comparitive tests under the same or very similar conditions of the motor. I usually allow the motor to get to operating temp under normal environmental conditions, then LOTO the motor from its power source, disconnect the motor at its terminal box and meg the motor at its leads. I do this mainly because the motor contactor can give a false meg reading due to excessive carbon tracing on the contacts.

This is what I have been taught by master tradesmen and personal experience:

5 megohm or less: I condemn the motor

5 to 10 megohm: the motor is in danger and I will still run it but follow up with weekly megger testing.

10 to 20 meg: I have cause for concern and will follow up with monthly megger testing.

Above 20 meg: the motor is ok and will follow up with yearly megger testing.

Bear in mind these are quidelines and many other factors can affect motor megger tests. A perfect example is a motor that is partially or fully encased in oil such as an oil filled sump pump motor or a hermetic compressor motor. Contaminants in the oil such as moisture or high levels of metal will give a false low megger reading so oil testing or replacement may be necessary.

I hope this has answered your question.

    Regards.

Where can i find some baby squirrel monkeys for sale???

HI there...perhaps this person's account of owning a squirrel monkey may enlighten you: http://monkeymaddness.com/articles/92344鈥?/a>

Many people seem to think that a baby primate would make a good pet because it is so cute and helpless. However, the reality is that they grow up. Monkeys cannot be potty-trained as they like to fling their dung and they bite. Apes (such as chimpanzees) are soon stronger than their human ';owner'; and they also bite. Humans and primates share many of the same diseases and can pass them to each other. A cold for a nonhuman primate can be deadly. Hepatitis from a primate bite can also be deadly. In order to try and reduce these problems, the primates are subjected to terrible pain and anxiety when their ';owner'; has their teeth filed or removed to avoid the biting, or relegates the animal to a cage or back room because it cannot be socialized.

And then there is puberty. At this point the primate becomes even more of a problem, as it has imprinted on humans. The primate is likely to become more and more unruly and dangerous and what are the owner's options? Zoos cannot take these animals because they don't know what they are and would not be able to fit in with their own kind. They obviously can't be taken out to a farm and let loose (like many people do with dogs and cats). What does that leave? Biomedical research?

Unfortunately, monkeys seldomly do not make good pets for the inexperienced and they are like 2 years olds that never grow up.

Do you think Rocky the Flying Squirrel wears a helmet because he's not a very good aviator?

I mean, most flying squirrels don't need one, do they?Do you think Rocky the Flying Squirrel wears a helmet because he's not a very good aviator?
Rocket J. Squirrel wears his classic aviators helmet purely as a fashion statement although he does occasionally use the goggles to ease his unusually sensitive eyes.Do you think Rocky the Flying Squirrel wears a helmet because he's not a very good aviator?
Rocky is a good aviator because he's smart. the others? Not a good choice. All aviators wear one.
They may not need the helmets...maybe, some flying squirrels want capes, so they can feel cool.
I think he's the smartest flying squirrel around.
Squirrels always wear helmets even when they park their bicycle.
Way out there has a good point. So does Moe, but as long as Moe wears a hat, no one will notice.
Well this is a good question, one that needs the expertise of a good squirrel. Does anyone know of a good squirrel?
rocky likes to pretend he is a WW1 flying ace.
    It's because he's a tard.

We must all were them when we go outside, it protects our head.

Miss Flannigan makes sure we never forget.
I think he wears the hat more for protection from what Bullwinkle pulls out of his hat!

    Peace.
    Style baby style.
the helmet was easier to draw then ears.
Rocky....would be just another squirrel...He needs the Aviator outfit...to show he's Rocky the Flying Squirrel....
He only wears it because it makes him look sooooo cool!
I love that squirrel and he wears that helmet to look cool and to protect his head while flying ..
He doesn't want to be mistaken with a non flying squirrel.

Get a be-be gun and a frying pan.
Peanuts with Dave's Insanity Sauce or some other hot pepper sauce..
call animal control for a trap, tell them he is acting strange!
    You need a guard duck.
    ooo i love squirrles....
a pellett rifle will make it go bye-bye
I hate squirrels. If you had a big dog it would probably stay away.
don't know if this actually works but my dad claims it does. He put a rubber snake on his porch and say's there have been no squirrels back since.
    Several:

    1. Kill it. I'm not advocating it but if you want to consider this as an option there are commercial poisons or the old .22 cal pistol / rifle. They make a short .22 cal bullet inappropriately nicknamed ';cat killers'; that don't carry the distance or noise that a regular bullet does. And them squirrels is good eat'n.

    2. Trap it in a live trap. You can pick one up for less than $50. Follow the directions and move the animal out to the country.

    3. Hire a falconer. Squirrels don't like preditors but preditors like squirrels.

That's it off the top of my head.
    Get a dog.

JK. Maybe ask animal control. They will know what to do.

Look 'em up in the yellow pages.
Have you tried punching it in the face? I'd probably get off your porch if you punched me in the face.
    get a cat
move the bird seed to another place in the yard.
Throw it an empty jar of peanut butter without the lid. Either it will become happy with you or it will get stuck and you can capture it and take it away. Don't forget to video tape it, it can be pretty funny.
You might just as well learn to enjoy them because they are independent little critters. We have had squirrels for as long as we have lived at our house. They really are quite entertaining .
Borrow somebody's cat and rub it all over your front porch.
grab a broom and sweep the porch, getting closer and closer. He'll leave.
    That's actually really cute. lol.

Throw birdseed somewhere away from the porch. It will start looking there instead.
Just start throwing peanuts out the back door... :P
Have some one climb up a tree and act like a nut.
    Get a cat.
I love squirrels. You can spray pure peppermint extract on your porch. They hate it.

Why can you kill a mole or gofer but not a squirrel ?

Oh i get it now, you must live in the city right?

Sorry, im an ex hunter. Why can you kill a mole or gofer but not a squirrel ?
Why do you have to kill anything? I mean they have people out there killing for us so we can get our daily intake of meat. If you want to use a gun so bad then go to a firing range. Why can you kill a mole or gofer but not a squirrel ?
No you can kill em. We have squirrel season here. BTW they taste like crap and are tough.
Squirrels are actually holy creatures and direct decendants of the Hindu god Rama
Depends where you are and how you do it, i suspect.

    How about leaving animals alone?

I have squirrel running around in my attic is there a good way to get rid of them?Squirrel trouble?
Your best bet is to call in a professional. If you do it yourself, make sure that you get the whole family out. You don't want to leave any babies. Also, you must release the squirrel very close to where you captured it, as squirrels have a small territory. Patch up all of the holes and be careful... they can get in a hole the size of a quarter.Squirrel trouble?
Make a trap, catch the squirrel, fix the hole(s) it came through.

    Done.

(don't forget to set the squirrel free in a squirrel friendly enviremont)
Entice it out with food and secure any opening, whatever you do don't lock it in - you will have a whole other problem posted here under the heading of ';strange smells';.

Hey do you think you can get me an autograph, I miss the great little guy.
get a trap, put food in it and put it in your attic. Then you need to find where it got in at and fix the problem (hole) unless you put it there.
Only use government approved quick kill squirrel traps.

The Kania Trap 2000 is the #1 squirrel trap in the UK. Easy to set, selective and no Non -targets to get caught.
A spring break back trap baited with peanut butter is the best solution. Instant death for the squirrel and no dead body rotting in an inaccessible corner.
put a cat into the attic.........

actually I have no clue except patch the holes up. Bait a trap cage, and pray?
First you need to find where it is getting in and seal up that as already suggested. Then you should be able to get a live trap from the local vet office or the animal rescue league - they might even know of someone who will trap it for you. Or you can poison it or place a trap that kills, but I would suggest the live trap.
find out how they are getting in and plug up the hole once you get them out.when you hear they are not up there no more go plug the attic.you could use those traps they use for beavers but i don't know were you would buy them.
Put champhor flakes or moth balls where they come in they do not like the smell Than close hole when out

Why is the Northern Flying Squirrel endangered?

Please help =)Why is the Northern Flying Squirrel endangered?
At least in Finland it lacks the suitable habitat. It requires old deciduous forest to thrive. Deciduous forest have very rich soil, and that's why they are often cut down and replaced with fields. Why is the Northern Flying Squirrel endangered?
because people mistake it for a bird. :)

    Not really :D

flying squirrels are very picky in their habitats and there are many people and animals that are detroying their habitats. People are cutting down the forests where they live and that is why they are endangered.

I don't think he's old enough quite yet punkin....I'd give him til he's at least 12 weeks and letting them go can be kinda tricky. I haven't hand raised a squirrel in quite some time but I included a link to a site where there are people who know EVERYTHING there is to know about squirrels and they can guide you step by step all the way.

If you go there, tell them PeeWee's mom sent you. When should i release my Squirrel back into the wild!?
To be honest, i'm not sure why you have a pet squirrel in the first place...

I'd say give it another month though.
