What are the quality differences in goat, pony, sable, and squirrel haired makeup brushes?

First, let's start with ';natural'; brushes should be used for application of powder, blush, powdered eye-shadow and the like. Synthetic brushes should be used for creamy products- wet eyeliner, lip gloss, concealer, etc.





For your standard arsenal- I would suggest sable brushes for powder applications. They are sturdy, wash well (be sure to wash weekly!), and are soft. Camel and pony brushes are not too soft against your face.
