Rocky is a good aviator because he's smart. the others? Not a good choice. All aviators wear one.
They may not need the helmets...maybe, some flying squirrels want capes, so they can feel cool.

the helmet was easier to draw then ears.
Rocky....would be just another squirrel...He needs the Aviator outfit...to show he's Rocky the Flying Squirrel....
He only wears it because it makes him look sooooo cool!
I love that squirrel and he wears that helmet to look cool and to protect his head while flying ..
